It is explained to parents that due to limited resources not all students obtain their first two choices.

A parents’ information evening on Subject Choice for Fifth Year is held in March/April. The Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP) is also explained to parents. Parents are also invited to make appointments with the Guidance Department to discuss subject choice.

Not all students get their first four choices

It is explained to parents that not all students will get their first four choices due to limited resources. If a student does not secure all his subject options, this is explained to him. We also invite parents to discuss alternative choices for subjects.

Minimum number for formation of class

It is explained to parents that if demand for a certain subject falls below fifteen, it may not be possible to run this subject.

Further concerns

If a student/parent has any further concerns on subject allocation, they are referred onto school management.
