Coláiste Phádraig was established in September 1969 with a modest beginning—just two teachers and forty-five students. The original school building consisted of a single prefab, which was gradually expanded as the student population grew.
In the autumn of 1978, Coláiste Phádraig moved into its permanent building. By then, the school had grown to four hundred students and thirty teachers. Alongside this growth came an expansion of the curriculum, with Transition Year and the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP) introduced—both of which remain integral parts of the school’s offerings today. While we have grown and evolved alongside Lucan and the surrounding areas, we continue to uphold the ethos and traditional values of learning and achievement that have been the foundation of our school life.
For over fifty-five years, Coláiste Phádraig has proudly catered to the educational, spiritual, cultural, social, and sporting needs of its students. We are committed to continuing this proud tradition well into the future.
